after you do that try reading literature on the language and take out the words you don't know from it : ) it enriches your vocabulary

I'm really trying to get a 2nd language on the go, are there any tips or tricks to help me immerse myself in another language, or anything like that to help me out?

try to immerse yourself in the culture, reading and watching a lot of stuff in the language is also very helpful
