Did you leave school to be a self educated programmer/ ethical hacker? how did it go?

it all depends on how disciplined you are going to be and the commitment you have, besides, to be a programmer or ethical hacker you can find a lot of material to learn, I recommend you to make a calendar and follow some specific roadmap for the specialty you want to do.

tbh for me self educating is really hard without mentors. I'd rather seek for course

No need dropping out of school first. Finish the schooling and then you can do self taught
