I feel they are still viable, because tech companies who are not that fond of cybersec (indians), they tend to ignore every single warning present, so they will just click the enable macros thinking it's the enable editing. Not going to work that easily if windows defender flags it first, but definitely viable.

There are new ways in microsoft office that are being introduced that maybe could be used, but they are experimental. It seems you can run python in excel somehow. crazy stuff.
