Matches rule: MZRevenge Ransomware by Ariel Millahuel at SOC Prime Threat Detection Marketplace
MZRevenge is designed to encrypt data and demand ransom payments for decryption. During the encryption process, all files are appended with the ".MZ173801" extension. Therefore, "1.jpg" would appear as "1.jpg.MZ173801", and so on for all compromised files. Once this process is finished, a text file ("Read_ME_PLS.txt") is created on the victim's desktop.
