How profitable is Redbull's advertising policy

As a energy drink brand Redbull is advertising themselves by competing in most popular sports rather than advertising a team that is already competitive in the sport. Few examples are the Formula 1 team or the football team RB Leipzig which is competing in the German League. But how profitable is this really compared to just signing a sponsorship with an already successful team?

I think it is a better advert strategy as this has better outreach in terms of AUDIENCE. They prevent putting themselves in a BOX aligned to a TEAM, whose performances can deteriorate over time. Besides, other teams might feel jealous and avoid their drink in entirety- which will lead to lower patronage

They could stop sponsoring things and still be very very profitable I think
Most of their customers buy it without being influenced by their sponsoring

They like to apply their logo to various extreme sports, which is very eye-catching.

This is the answer. By becoming a team, they open themselves to more opportunity. They can also make money from it.
