MagicGardens is an INSANE level Linux machine at Hack The Box. That was releases last spring - well many have still not solved this box (myself included). While there are writeups, etc. Most cover the unintended ways to gain foot hold & privsec. Those ways have since then have been patched, leaving only the mysterious intended way. 

I am trying to get a group of people together starting at 5pm (EST) thru this evening to work on this box. 

If you have not solved and would like to join in please feel free - I will try to get us a Telegram group link posted to discuss & share things easier.

If you have already SOLVED MagicGardens (Especially since October) and would like to Mentor / Assist the group in solving please DM me and or feel free join along! 

The whole point of this is to work as a TEAM and solve this - no "handouts" people contributing and working the problems and getting the flags. 

If someone has a RECENT walk through - with all the steps of the intended solve please also DM me!  

So (2) hours from now if anyone is interested at another try, then lets do this one!

I have done this one sometime around August I believe, and have some notes, if it was already patched I can help out, I will need to clean ip's and such first thou. let me know.

Anything sounds good!  If you have any detailed notes / writeup or walkthrough then please share! - I have one write up - that I will be sharing that I know the the first part works up unto getting first SSH for use. That is where alot of the write ups go off the rails. either using and unintended method that has been patched - OR the notes / writeup are missing some detail or using a tool - thank no one else seems to be able to find or get to work w/out errors. 

So I am open to anything tonight to get a SOLVE for any of us that have not been able to do so yet!

Thanks I finally got it - I was trying all the wrong things - everything I was trying had been found my other and HTB patched as unintended. I was able to pull and grab the id_rsa for root user and got in. Its not a normal box you get the root flag before user flag. at least in my case - I am going to try to do a write up this week and post
