Get android permissions in java without asking user

I was wondering, is it possible in modern android versions (let's just say 5.0+) to get any permission without prompting the user to grant or deny permission? If yes, how is it done?

For some reason I am picturing some binary being added to the source code to give this capability.

Well, privilege escalation, It is a pretty basic concept
