I have always wondered if money really changes people, or if they really reveal who they always were.

I think yes, it does change people but only to a certain point, for example you will not see much difference from someone with a 100 Million to someone with 200 Million but you will se a big difference between someone with 500k and 1 million. Same increase but different needs.

i have read a lot of threads here and i agree with a lot of them. there is a specific change i have noticed as well with people that start earning a shitload of money. from my own experience ive heard people admitting to me they used to be an asshole when they started earning a lot. arrogance, ego, thinking youre on top of the world and better than everyone else. its also partly why some of those people start earning more and become "rich". however, i noticed a second change. esp those people talking to me were super humble, kind and down to earth. i believe its when that initial feeling i mentioned before wears off. esp good people ig will come back down to earth. super down to earth i must say

Something similar happened to me, where several friends started to have good money, and they are no longer the same as before

that sucks a lot more when its friends. my experience was in a work environment so luckily not too personal.
