With some of the quick sample tests off the compTIA site, if you have some basic knowledge about computers that should really help you out with the A+ certifications and learning. I need to remember the name of the guy on Youtube who has a bunch of videos just going over the topic about a 60 or 70 something video play list

There are free Security+ study guides available online, and I highly recommend using flashcards. If possible, have a friend quiz you with the flashcards—it adds excitement when you get one right, and both of you can share in the enthusiasm. This method really helped me prepare for a 100-question test.
