Hey folks, I'm conducting some research on protecting iPhones from forensic software like GrayKey, Cellebrite's and more . What methods have you found to be effective in safeguarding your device?

I would say let go the 4-6 digits passcode and go for alphanumerical? Graykey can crack 4 digits easily and 6 in a matter of days... The more, the better. Also, with iOS 17.3 you can use Stolen Device Protection as a additional security layer.

I wish Apple would implement some kind of kill code option. So you set a PIN that once entered erases the phone data and doesn’t allow the phone to be switched off till it’s done.

Yeah I guess the direct alternative to that is the 10 attempts that delete that after?

A VPN can protect your internet traffic from interception, especially on untrusted networks, further securing your data from potential snoopers.

A VPN ain't going to do shit on safegarding against Graykey or Cellebrite UFED. OP is talking about counter-forensic methods for iOS

I’ve thought about a impossible to remove case holding a battery with a (difficult to engage) kill function that would jolt the lightning port with high voltage and cook the device.
