Well it depends on your goals if you looking to find a job in this area, OSCP has more HR recognition so its easier to get that first interview with it but CPTS imo has better study materials and the exam is actually a real life pentesting simulation vs the CTF style of OSCP. I also believe that the CPTS will get more recognition in the future but I can be wrong. Also CPTS is way way cheaper.

Def this. I also wouldn't do OSCP w/o comp paying. Just not worth it imo

In the industry OSCP is fairly well recognized, CPTS is not. There's a lot of debate as to whether certs add much, if anything, to your resume for hiring managers, but the OSCP tends to stick out to managers.
