1. Whoever did this is some kinda sick fuck with no understanding of what damage they will do to history and culture
2. Some script kiddie got a little too excited and LARPed as an 31337 h4xx0r for attention

apparently the ddos was coming from a group known as 'sn_blackmeta' on twitter
i do not know if they are behind the database breach too

the reason they attacked archive.org is so stupid : they think archive.org is owned by the u.s. gov and were attacking because of u.s. support of israel

-maybe its israel doing a false flag operation
-maybe its some US political party trying to keep people away from archive.org as the presidential election are coming next month
-maybe the group behind the ddos are not behind the databreach and its just some bored teenager who did it for clout, or even some bored infosec guy .

I doubt the twitter idiots had anything to do with it. No way a competent group would take down and steal data from a major archive like that because of some stupid reason like being associated with the US (which it isn't, but that's another point entirely). There's gotta be another reason, if any at all, because I refuse to believe that's the case.
