Right. A lot of schools purposely post directories that are viewable to the world containing this information.

Some purposely do, not really knowing any better….at least for staff. True students aren’t typically posted. So I guess you’re not getting those from the school websites. Google directory would be my guess.

Hello, yes you are correct data is taken through Google or Outlook Directory/Contacts list. It is common malpractice to leave a directory wide open for others to take. All data is stated and sampled on the original thread, so you should know what you are getting before you unlock the thread. I can't provide insights into what other people use this data for but personally I have used it on my own for large mailing lists and targeted infosec. I don't know if this is the answer you are looking for but I do hope this clears it up for you!

Thanks for the clarification. Just curious what all people wanted from these lists. Figured it was primarily the email addresses for mailing lists.

I don’t think these directories are public facing though are they? At least for Google I always thought that was behind account authentication so you would need a compromised account first before obtaining this information.

Otherwise if it was that easy to find the info in a public setting why would people be paying for it here lol.
